WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ABOUT WORK?

We are expanding our outreach and will be sending communications around Noon when updates are available. Updates will be emailed, posted around the airport, and posted on the homepage of AVL’s website. Scroll to the very bottom of the homepage and look for “Internal Resources,” or visit: https://flyavl.com/AVLEMPLOYEE.

DO I NEED TO REPORT TO WORK IF I AM ABLE?

IF YOU ARE AN ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE (Operations, Maintenance, DPS, IT, Guest Services, and Custodial) continue following the schedule that has been established for you.  If you have questions about your assigned schedule, please call your supervisor or the Communications Center: 828-684-4577.  

ALL OTHER EMPLOYEES — The office is reopening on Monday 10/7/24. Please report back to work on Monday.  If you are unable to get to work, please contact your immediate supervisor or the Communications Center: 828-684-4577.  

TEMPORARY DRESSCODE: Casual clothing, sneakers and jeans are approved temporarily.  Uniformed departments should continue wearing uniforms unless advised otherwise by your direct supervisor.  Please use your best judgment for what is appropriate.

I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH GAS TO COME BACK AND FORTH TO WORK

GASOLINE — Gas stations are opening throughout our region and gas stations on Airport Road and are taking credit cards.  If you are still unable to find gas, we are providing a limited amount of gasoline to employees.  For those unable to find gas, you must coordinate with maintenance by calling the Communications Center at 828-684-4577.

OUR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE NETWORK IS HERE TO HELP

Call our employee assistance counselors for remote assistance: 828-252-5725 or 800-454-1477 and follow the prompts to access resources and counseling through Southwest EAP. They can support you and anyone in your household at no cost.

GREAT NEWS! WE HAVE TEAM MEMBERS ON SITE FROM OTHER AIRPORTS TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE AND RELIEF FOR OUR STAFF

Our colleagues are here from other airports – working hard alongside the AVL team.  They are here primarily to provide operational help, relief so essential team members can go home and rest and take care of their families, as well as to take care of the AVL team working at the airport.

SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR AVL TEAM

The aviation industry is incredibly responsive and supportive — we received an amazing shipment from Charleston International Airport and Breeze Airways!

This shipment contained some equipment that AVL team members can check out to use at their homes for their personal disaster recovery, as well as supplies for those in need.

The following is the list of equipment available for team members to check out:

Please e-mail Janet (or call 828-654-3234) if you would like to check out a piece of equipment and she will provide you with availability status and waiver paperwork. Team members can check out the items, once waiver paperwork is complete.
