Vice President of Information Technology
The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking a Vice President of Information Technology to provide executive leadership and operational oversight of all Information Technology (IT) systems for the Authority. Is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and administration of the Information Technology, Telecommunications, Physical and Cyber Security, and Shared Use networks and programs for the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority. Drives technology strategy in collaboration with other leaders to improve customer experience, operational efficiencies, and support revenue generation. As a senior leader, one is expected to uphold and model the organization’s mission, vision, and these core values: Forward, Integrity, and Empathy.

Operations + Maintenance
General, Maintenance Technician III
The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking a General Maintenance Technician. This position exists to participate in technical and skilled trades in the maintenance and repair of airport buildings and related facilities. This position maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of building and facilities including, but not limited to, terminal, rental car facility, parking garage and more, as needed. Performs general maintenance activities including heating and air conditioning, plumbing, lighting systems, mechanical, electrical, electronic systems, car washes, vacuum systems, air compressors, gas pumps and tanks. Work requires significant independence and initiative and a significant knowledge of technical and trade practices and skills. Work also requires coordination with a variety of airport officials in determining needs and priorities. Participates in budget projections and purchasing. This employee may be called back as assigned. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities/Landside Maintenance Supervisor.

This position exists to perform routine repair, maintenance, preventative maintenance and landscaping support to assure that airport grounds, landscaped areas, plants, shrubs, and grass are maintained in optimum condition.

Public Safety Officer
The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking an individual for the position of Public Safety Officer. On a shift schedule, the Public Safety Officer is responsible for the combined duties of aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF), emergency medical response, and law enforcement. Work requires the performance of hazardous tasks under emergency conditions which may include strenuous exertion. This position requires working well in an emergency situation and must exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in completing assignments and handling difficult public contact situations requiring considerable tact and knowledge of airport policies, procedures, and programs. Performs other duties as assigned by the Public Safety Chief, Deputy Chief, Captain, and/or on-duty Lieutenant. North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification required.

The FAA is currently looking for Air Traffic Control Specialists.
Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS) are responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of air traffic through the nation's airspace. The FAA has Air Traffic Control Facilities in every state as well as Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam. Air Traffic Control Specialists in the Terminal option control air traffic at airports and give pilots taxiing and takeoff instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice based on their own observations and information from the National Weather Service, Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), flight service stations, pilots, and other sources. They transfer control of aircraft to the ARTCC controller when the aircraft leaves assigned airspace, and they receive control of aircraft coming into assigned airspace. They provide separation between aircraft flying within the Federal airways or operating into or out of airports..
