Under the general direction of the President & CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) directs the Finance and Accounting Department of the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority. The responsibilities include finance and accounting, purchasing and procurement, budgeting, debt management, investments, internal audits and capital planning. Responsible for the financial integrity of the department and the entire organization. Ensures that proper controls are in place and activities are in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Vice President Air Service + Corporate Communications
The Vice President - Air Service + Corporate Communications is directly responsible for all air service development and corporate communications goals and functions. Oversees the following departments: Air Service Development, Marketing and Public Relations, Guest Services. Provides leadership and strategic direction to staff in these departments to ensure organizational goals are met. The position is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, oversight and/or administration of the following strategic functions: (1) air service development processes and programs; (2) marketing and public relations programs; (3) strategic brand development and customer experience processes and programs; and (4) in-terminal advertising revenue generation for the organization. The position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Operations + Maintenance
Landside/Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
This position exists to supervise the staff and programs for Landside and Facility Maintenance in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other federal, state, and local regulations required to operate the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL). This position supervises and directs the work of Airport Maintenance Technicians (leads, skilled, and unskilled) and oversees their professional development and goal achievement. This position plays a primary role in the oversight and coordination of all daily tasks for corrective, preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance for all landside and building facilities. Under emergency situations, reacts quickly and calmly to protect persons, property, and ensures compliance. Requires effective skills to lead and motivate a diverse staff, exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative, and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders and the public.

Pay: from $27.00 per hour. This is a Non-Exempt position.

Airport Security Coordinator
This position exists to manage the staff and programs to comply with Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) and other federal, state, and authority regulations for the Asheville
Regional Airport (AVL). Supervises and directs the work of Badging Specialists and oversees
their professional development and goal achievement. This position manages the Airport
Security Program, ensures compliance with TSR Part 1542, acts as the Primary Airport Security
Coordinator, and serves as primary contact for the Federal Security Director and the lead
Transportation Security Inspector. Serves as the back-up to the Airport Operations Manager in
their absence. Under emergency situations, reacts quickly and calmly to protect persons,
property, and ensures compliance. Requires effective skills to lead and motivate a diverse staff,
exercises considerable independent judgement and initiative, and maintains effective working
relationships with stakeholders and the public.
Pay: from $63,500. This is an Exempt position.

Operations Specialist I
The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking an outstanding individual who can maintain airport compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 77 and 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Part 1542, and all other applicable statutes, regulations and requirements and ensures the safety and security of all airport users.
Responsibilities include performing airport airside and landside inspections, coordinating and monitoring construction activities, and other duties performed in the Airport.
A bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; or a minimum of two years of work experience at a commercial service airport performing functions of a similar nature.

Pay: from $24.02 per hour. This is a Non-Exempt position.

Federal Aviation Administration
The FAA is currently looking for Air Traffic Control Specialists.
Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS) are responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of air traffic through the nation's airspace. The FAA has Air Traffic Control Facilities in every state as well as Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam. Air Traffic Control Specialists in the Terminal option control air traffic at airports and give pilots taxiing and takeoff instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice based on their own observations and information from the National Weather Service, Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), flight service stations, pilots, and other sources. They transfer control of aircraft to the ARTCC controller when the aircraft leaves assigned airspace, and they receive control of aircraft coming into assigned airspace. Air Traffic Control Specialists in the En Route (Center) option give aircraft instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice regarding flight conditions while en route between airports. They provide separation between aircraft flying within the Federal airways or operating into or out of airports..
