Finance

Accountant

Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority seeks a professional accountant who will be responsible for maintaining the Airport Authority’s accounts receivable and revenue system, including monitoring receivables to ensure timely payment from customers. The position is responsible for entering journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package and maintaining detailed activity reports for rental car and ground transportation operations. The position will also perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Accounting.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field is preferred. Equivalent applicable experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. A minimum of 2 years work experience practicing advanced accounting skills is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products is required.
 
The position requires skills in prioritization, verbal and written communication, interpersonal relations, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Maintenance

Maintenance Technician I

The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking an individual for the position of Maintenance Technician. This individual performs routine manual work in lawncare maintenance of all airport grounds. This position performs manual labor primarily involving mowing, trimming and clean-up to ensure that all areas on airport grounds are maintained and debris-free. Work involves the use of and basic equipment maintenance of a variety of lawncare equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, backpack blowers as well as other hand-tools such as rakes, brooms and shovels. Work also includes the performance of routine facility maintenance items like patching, painting etc.  and established tasks such as sweeping and trash pick-up of all roadways, walkways and landscaped areas of the airport. This position is also required to assist in snow removal operations during inclement weather.
Completion of high school or equivalent education required. Experience working in the lawncare maintenance field is preferred.

Operations

Operations Specialist I

The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking an outstanding individual who can maintain airport compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 77 and 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Part 1542, and all other applicable statutes, regulations and requirements and ensures the safety and security of all airport users. 
Responsibilities will include performing airport airside and landside inspections, coordinate and monitor construction activities, and other operations functions. This position, with supervision, will conduct dispatching, communications, airport badging, and duties performed in the Airport Communications Center and Airport Operations Center.

A Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of two years of work experience at a commercial service airport performing functions of a similar nature.

Public Safety Officer

Custodial

Custodial Technician

The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) is seeking an individual for the position of Custodial Technician. This individual performs routine work in cleaning of all airport facilities.  This position performs work involving cleaning and janitorial services.  Work involves the use of a variety of cleaning tools and cleaning agents.  Work includes the performance of routine, established tasks such as cleaning restrooms, collecting garbage from garbage cans, restocking restroom supplies, and cleaning offices.

Completion of high school or equivalent education required.  Experience working in the custodial field is preferred.
