Airport Authority welcomes new Director of Administration and Human Resources

The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority is pleased to welcome a new Director of Administration and Human Resources to the Authority staff.

Frank Wheeler brings 35 years of experience in human resources to the airport, including his most recent role as Senior Human Resources Manager at Nypro Healthcare, a Jabil Inc. company, in Western North Carolina. He holds a Master of Science in human resources from Western Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Science in business management and economics from North Carolina State University.

Prior to his work with Jabil, Wheeler held the titles of Human Resources Manager for Mills Manufacturing in Asheville, North Carolina, and Human Resources Manager for Harley Davidson in Talladega, Alabama, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

"Mr. Wheeler will be an excellent addition to the Authority team," said Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., Airport Director. "His extensive experience in human resources will be invaluable to the organization as the airport continues to manage rapid growth."

A Durham native and resident of Western North Carolina for 33 years, Wheeler is a member of the Western North Carolina Human Resource Association and previously served as Foundation Director. He is also a graduate of the 29th UNC-Asheville's Leadership Asheville Program.

Wheeler began his new position November 13, 2018, and will lead the airport's efforts in administration and human resources.
