(Asheville, N.C.) The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority is pleased to welcome a new Aviation Properties and Contracts Manager to the Authority staff.
Christina Madsen brings over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry to the airport, including her most recent role as the Deputy Aviation Director for Business and Properties at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona. She holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Utah.
"Mrs. Madsen brings years of valuable experience in aviation, real estate and business development," said Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., Airport Director. "This is a brand new position for the organization and she will be an instrumental part of the Authority team as we continue to expand and enhance airport facilities and services to accommodate for record-breaking growth."
Prior to her work with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Madsen held the titles of General Manager of Business and Properties for Portland International Airport in Oregon, and Airport Property Manager for Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah.
Under Madsen's leadership, the Portland International Airport concession program was recognized for multiple awards, including "Best Customer Service," "Best Management Team," "Best Program Design," "Best Redeveloped Program," "Best Overall Program," and "Best Single Terminal Design."
Madsen began her new position January 14, 2019, and will lead the airport's efforts in managing Authority properties, concessions, airfield aeronautical business, commercial property development and lease administration.
