Fall has finally arrived, and along with beautiful leaves and football season fall also brings busier travel. Check out these travel tips so that your fantastic fall travel through AVL goes smoothly!
⏰Arrive Early: Feel free to stop for a pumpkin spice latte on the way to the airport, but make sure that you arrive at least two hours prior to your boarding time. This will allow you time to park, check in and get through security.
🚙Parking: Did you know that AVL recently updated the parking options to make it easier to choose what works for your trip? Choose from Premium, Standard or Shuttle parking. Check out the info. on the website to make a plan before you arrive.
⛔No Waiting on the Curb: Are you picking up travelers for an exciting week of leaf peeping? Be sure to use the complimentary Cell Phone Lot located across the street from the main airport entrance while waiting for passengers. This keeps the curb clear and traffic moving in front of the terminal.
🚕Ride App Pickup: The pickup area for ride apps is now located closer to the terminal! Passengers using apps like Uber or Lyft or taxis can access these services at the lot just south of the new rental car center and baggage claim. It is approximately a four-six minute walk or passengers can take any AVL parking shuttle from the pickup areas on the curb.
🚐Parking Shuttles: Complimentary AVL parking shuttles pick up in two locations on the curb: in front of the ticket lobby and baggage claim entrances. These shuttles go to the Standard and Shuttle parking lots as well as the Ride App and Taxi Pick-up area. You can track the avl parking shuttles in real-time using Passio. We'll do the driving so you can kick back in your favorite cozy sweater and boots and enjoy the ride.
🪪REAL ID: Don’t forget that you will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or other acceptable form of ID (like a passport) at the security checkpoint. Take a break from pumpkin carving and other fall activities to make sure you are REAL ID ready for your trip.
