American Airlines announced today that they are extending their daily, nonstop seasonal route from Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) and New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to year-round service.
“American Airlines is an excellent partner at our airport and in our region,” said Lew Bleiweis, AVL President and CEO. “We continue to see the airline grow in western North Carolina and provide the kind of service that travelers want. They have built a significant presence here, and our region is fortunate to have access to such robust air service. Congratulations to American for their continued success.”
American flies nonstop to nine cities from AVL, including daily flights to major connecting hubs. The airline provides 35% of all air service at AVL at this time and will fly more than 400 roundtrips per month next summer.
“American Airlines is excited to extend its seasonal service between Asheville Regional Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport next summer,” said Philippe Puech, American’s Director of Domestic Network Planning. “We’re eager to give customers the chance to experience all that Asheville has to offer in the summer and provide local residents with additional access to American’s global network.”
