
(Asheville, N.C.) Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) is pleased to announce the selection of Amy Harris as Chief Financial Officer. Harris’ financial career spans 25 years in both public and private sectors and several industries. As an aviation industry professional, she has over 13 years of airport leadership experience. During her aviation career Harris has managed the financial aspects of large capital programs and capital funding sources, all of which support the mission, vision, and values of the organizations she has served.
Harris currently serves as the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager for Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina. During her tenure she has been a financial subject matter expert on interdepartmental teams, a speaker at various Airport industry conferences and is a founding member of CLT’s Women in Aviation organization.
Amy has an MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Colorado State University and is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (A.A.A.E.).
Regarding her new appointment, Harris stated, “I am thrilled to join the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority in the role of CFO and to be part of the team serving the vibrant region of Asheville and Western North Carolina. Asheville Regional Airport has provided a lifeline to the community and remains a strong driver of continued economic growth in the region. Having the opportunity to play a role in encouraging this growth, while being committed to thoughtful stewardship of the airport's resources, is a career-defining opportunity. I am excited to join such a talented and dedicated group of aviation professionals at AVL and I am looking forward to this next chapter.”
